Anyone, beginner or non-beginner, who is interested in dancing the Beseda on Czech Days, June 15th or 16th, 2018, please contact Loretta Kortan (463-2320) or Vicky Carda (463-2570) before June 1st. Please leave a message if unavailable.
The beginners who wish to dance must have completed first grade and will be expected at daily practice starting Monday, June 4th, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Tabor Elementary School Gym. Please Note: That first week, practice will not be held on Tuesday, June 5th. However, there will be practice June 4th, 6th,7th, and 8th as well as 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th. The second week, weather permitting, will be held at the park next to Beseda Hall. Because of the complexity of the dance, all first and second year dancers must attend ALL practices in order to be a participant. No one will be accepted after practice has already begun. No one will dance without previous experience. All dancers are expected to be at practice in Sokol Park on Sunday, June 10th at 10:15 a.m. (Call ahead if you have a conflict.)
Just a reminder concerning the appropriate dress for this dance: full costume for men and boys: white dress shirt (no T-shirt), red tie, red vest, and dark trousers. (No blue jeans)
Full costume for women and girls: white blouse, vest, white apron, red skirt, and flower wreath in hair.
Again because of the large number of participants in the dance, no personal contacts will be made; we ask that you contact either Loretta or Vicky about your intentions.
